Earliest Photo Evidence of Motorcycle Security using a Padlock
« on: November 17, 2013, 03:03:53 PM »

Near the top of the picture there is a padlock attached to the motorcycle. It looks like the padlock might be used to lock the guide for the shifter preventing the rider from shifting gears. I don't know the exact year of the motorcycle in the photo, but my guess is its around 1915 and its a Harley Davidson v-twin. The padlock is a Yale and Towne brass padlock. You can see the letters Y & T in the photo as well as the logo, which looks sort of like a clover.

I don't know if this is actually the earliest known photograph showing motorcycle security, but it is the earliest photograph I have seen.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
