Because of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 126, vehicles including passenger cars, vans, light trucks, and buses under 10,000 pounds GVWR, and manufactured after September 1, 2011, must be equipped with a ESC, Electronic Stability Control, that meets the following requirements:
1) The vehicle ESC system must be able to apply all 4 brakes individually.
2) The vehicle ESC system must work during all phases of driving including acceleration, deceleration and cruising.
3) The vehicle ESC system must work when the ABS or Traction Control is activated.
