A Kawasaki Vulcan Drifter with 110,000 miles
« on: November 15, 2016, 05:42:06 PM »
Ran across a photo on the ROK facebook page that shows the speedometer for a 2001 Kawasaki Vulcan Drifter VN1500 with 110,000 miles by the same owner. Not bad considering most bikes will never see 25,000 miles before changing owners or ending up behind a shed to transform into iron oxide.

Kawasaki manufactured a cruiser motorcycle called the Drifter, styled after the popular 1940's Indian Chief. The Drifter accurately captures that classic American style with the same body lines seen in early American motorcycles, but with the modern technology and reliability Kawasaki motorcycles are known for. Kawasaki manufactured two different versions of the Drifter: the Vulcan Drifter VN800 from 1999 to 2006, and the VN1500 from 1999 to 2005. Both models started out with blacked out forks and rear shocks (VN1500 model only), and a funky looking seat for 1999 and 2000 model years. In 2001 the blacked out forks and shocks turned to chrome and the funky seat was scrapped for a single rider seat.
