1986 Honda XR100R
« on: December 28, 2014, 03:34:08 PM »
I just finished working on a 1986 Honda XR100R. The bike is in great condition, so I didn't do much to get it in good working order. I thought I would share a few photo's of this motorcycle with everyone, and post some of  the bikes specifications. Also I purchased a repair manual for the following Honda motorcycles: 1975-1991 XL/XR75, XL/XR80, XL/XR100, so if anyone needs any information from this manual, than post your request on this forum and I will reply back.

Specifications for the 1986 Honda XR100R:

  • 99cc OHC Single Cylinder 4 Stroke Engine
  • 5 Speed Manual Transmission
  • Wheelbase approximately 48.2 inches
  • Dry Weight approximately 163.1 lbs
  • Seat Height approximately 31.5 inches
  • 16 inch rear rim
  • 19 front rim
  • Color is Flash Red and seat is Blue
  • Tank decal is Red & White, and I found replacement decals on ebay.
  • Tank, Front Fender, Rear Fender, and Left Right Side Panels are all made of plastic.
  • Front suspension: Leading axle front fork
  • Pro-Link Rear Suspension
  • Drum Front and Rear Brakes

1986 Honda XR100R Tune Up Specifications:

  • Intake and Exhaust Valve Clearance: 0.05 mm or 0.002 inch
  • Compression (at sea level): 164 psi
  • Spark Plug: NGK CR6HS
  • Spark Plug Gap: 0.6-0.7 mm or 0.024-0.028 inch
  • Idle Speed: 1300 rpm plus or minus 100 rpm
  • Rear axle nut torque: 40-50 foot pounds
  • Oil Drain Plug Torque: 14-22 foot pounds

The engine oil I used in this motorcycle is 10W-40 Valvoline 4 Stroke Motorcycle Oil. I will probably upgrade next time to a full synthetic motorcycle oil from Valvoline or Mobil oil.
