Reconquista and Viva La Rosa are slogans used by Mexicans to say the whole South West United States belongs to them, and I'm sure it's no longer only Mexicans saying this. And it's more than just the land in California they want, it's the entire South West United States. I first heard these slogans in the 1990's, and I think they were first used in this context long before that, so this has been happening for decades. It's always been here under the surface just waiting to come out.
I'm sure these ideas played a role in the LA riots to prevent Trump from enforcing federal immigration laws? It's not a coincidence that most politicians or public officials with ancestors from Central and South America, or POC, are more likely to oppose federal enforcement of immigration laws. Order to them is ignoring immigration laws and leaving our Southern border wide open to allow anyone to cross into America.
America cannot coexist with this. This division is not a strength and will destroy this country. You can ignore it, or you can face it, but either way, at some point it will end in conflict. I just hope our weak politicians take this threat seriously and don't fold.
