A hockey player was killed when another hockey player skates towards him during a game and side kicks him in the neck while wearing hockey shoes. Hockey shoes are skating shoes with a metal blade attached to the bottom of the shoe, running the length of the shoe, and is used for sliding on ice. A hockey shoe can quickly become a deadly weapon if used with malicious intent. The media is calling this hockey players death an "accident."
