Title: Chinese Motorcycles Are Getting Better
Post by: smallengineshop on August 23, 2021, 06:51:48 PM
It's funny how things change. Chinese manufactured dirt bikes are now sold along side Japanese brands at big multi-line motorcycle dealerships. Chinese brands like GPX and Kayo are competing with Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki and Suzuki. I just saw an ad for a Kayo dirt bike sold at RideNow Powersports. If you look at old motorcycle magazines from the 60's and 70's you can experience the early history when Japanese motorcycles were competing for market share with British and American made motorcycles. The Japanese brands were good, but they also undercut the British and American brands in cost to make them more competitive. Now Chinese brands are undercutting the Japanese bikes. Both the Kayo and GPX brands sell for thousands less than Japanese dirt bikes.
