Title: The Kawasaki KLR 650 Has A Higher Range Than A 2025 Honda Gold Wing Tour

The 2025 Kawasaki KLR 650 has a fuel tank capacity of 6.1 gallons. This is also true for the second generation KLR 650's (2008-2018). The 2025 Honda Gold Wing Tour motorcycle has a fuel tank capacity of 5.5 gallons. That is a decrease from the 2015 Gold Wing fuel tank capacity of 6.6 gallons. In the last major change for the Gold Wing model, which happened in 2018, Honda was forced to decrease fuel tank capacity to change how the bike looks.

The 2025 Honda Gold Wing Tour is powered by a 1833cc six cylinder engine, and the motorcycle has a wet weight of 845 pounds. The 2025 Kawasaki KLR 650 is powered by a 652cc single cylinder engine and has a wet weight of 460 pounds. The Gold Wing averages around 40 mpg, while the KLR 650 averages around 50 mpg. I can verify the miles per gallon on my 2009 KLR as being slightly over 50 mpg. Around 52 mpg the last time I checked.

So you see, given fuel tank capacity, average mpg, weight, and engine size, the Kawasaki KLR 650 has a higher range, and can drive farther on one tank of gas than a 2025 Honda Gold Wing Tour in most, if not all, situations. That's pretty cool if you ask me. The KLR 650 is a motorcycle with a base price of $6899 compared to the 2025 Gold Wing Tour MSRP of $28,700, and the KLR out performs the Gold Wing in this category.
